LEBIALEM PARADISE 2050 VISION AT A GLANCE

Adopted in 2023 after presentation by the keynote speaker Chief Afueh James, the Lebialem Paradise vision was originally a 2028 Vision. This was later modified by the LECDA USA BOT to a 25-year development plan, known as Lebialem Paradise Vision 2050. This modification gave a more realistic timeline to meticulously plan the different developmental road maps envisage in the Lebialem Paradise Vision. This Vision that was originally conceived with only LECDA USA in mind and targeting 2000 members to contribute $125 a year, has been expanded to include all Lebialem sons and daughters both at home and abroad. With this expansion, it is hoped that this vision becomes a reality even before 2050

Why The Vision?
A careful look at Lebialem in the past decades reveal enormous resources that has been poured on Lebialem by different groups and stakeholders who have the development of Lebialem at heart. These stakes holders range from the different Lebialem diaspora groups to resources generated by the local councils or allocated towards Lebialem development by the Cameroon Government. The Lebialem 2050 Paradise Vision is based on one simple principle. If all sons and daughters of Lebialem across the globe, can agree to come together and discuss how to effectively manage all resources that are available toward the development of Lebialem, Lebialem will become paradise by 2050.

Lack of coordination in the development efforts, especially between the Lebialem diaspora branches, has led to wrong allocation or duplication of projects. A big obstacle that has discouraged contribution in Lebialem diaspora has been the lack of a clear road map on how to carry developmental projects across the entire Lebialem with the funds raised, and lack of participation in LECDA activities by some Fondoms.

This has led to the feeling by some Fondoms that others are just there to take advantage of them. To put an end to duplication, mismanagement and wrong allocation of resources, or the feeling that some Fondoms are taking advantage of others, the Lebialem Paradise Vision was conceived to bring all the Lebialem stakeholders from all works of life and across the globe together. This is to ensure that we all develop a road map, contribute toward it, and manage our way toward achieving Lebialem Paradise.
